Sustainable production as a way of life

We produce jams with no chemical additives and certified organic fine fruits while taking care of the environment.

LEARN ABOUT MASSEUBE

Since our creation to this very day, the organic production of Patagonic fruits and jams has been part of our essence.

Jams from Patagonia

In 1994, during his stay in Hong Kong, Nicolás Nuñez got in touch for the first time with organic products, which were almost unknown in Argentina.

Driven by the desire of a change in his life, he went back to Argentina, where he met Diego Lerner, his future partner. Together, motivated by the passion of producing naturally and taking care of the environment, they travelled across Patagonia until they found the place where they could bring their vision to life, which was changing the way food is produced around the world.

That is how Valle del Medio was born, located in Lago Puelo, Chubut, right in the heart of Patagonia.

Since 1998, organic jams and natural fruits without chemical additives have been produced sustainably here, thus achieving top quality products.

In March 2011, a further step was taken: the purchase of the trademark Dulces Masseube (Masseube Jams). A few months later, the production was moved from El Hoyo, where the old plant operated, to Valle del Medio, which has state-of-the-art facilities and where the outsourcing of jams for other companies takes place.

In 2019, we reached a major milestone in our history: producing organic jams in Valle del Medio.

Valle del Medio (Middle Valley): The geography and the spiritual motivation come together in this name, since the middle path is precisely the search for balance.

Our Place

Lago Puelo was the location chosen to build the Valle del Medio estate, not only because of its scenic beauty, its strategic geographic location, and its agroecological and climatic conditions suitable for a sustainable production, but also because of its appropriate service infrastructure, its social composition and, especially, its great potential for growth.

The name Valle del Medio, which means Middle Valley, is derived from its geographic location, since it is delimited by two rivers, Azul and Quemquentreu, and by a hill —named Loma del Medio (Middle Hill)— which crosses the valley and ends in its own lagoon called Piuqué (which means "heart" in the Mapuche native language).

But it also responds to the search for a personal balance in the lives of its two founders, Nicolás Núñez and Diego Lerner.

The geography and the spiritual motivation come together in this name, since the middle path is precisely the search for balance.
